BunnyX is an XML Proxy server that dynamically converts existing HTML into XML and XML-RPC based web services. The idea behind the proxy is that web application developers have invested time, effort and money in developing applications to use on corporate Internet and Intranet servers. These applications have been tested, debugged and work for the business. The newest application development tools however, create and work with web service and xml based data. Businesses have three choices if they want to take advantage of the latest xml tools and technologies:

Re-write the applications from scratch using new frameworks and tools
Convert existing applications by adding xml technologies
Screen scrape the web application output and provide the appropriate xml interface

One of the aims of this project is to make the last option as simple and reliable as possible. This is important as providing an XML interface dynamically would be faster to develop against, cheaper and involve less testing for the new applications being developed. It also allows application developers who are converting existing applications to code against an XML interface until re-implementation.
